Essay Contest Announced!

Our community is sponsoring the fourth Patriotic Scholarship/Essay contest for area high school students.   The special patriotic essay must be presented to the scholarship committee by May 27, 2011.   The winning essay will be announced on July 2nd at the Lake Freeman Boat Parade-Celebration in the Monticello City Park.  Cash scholarships will be awarded to the winners.
Essay Requirements:  The essay must have a patriotic theme including the “Proud to Be an American” theme in the essay.   The essay cannot exceed three pages in length.  It must be typed and double spaced, using the New Times Roman font with a 14 size type.  

Essays must be delivered to the Twin Lakes School Corporation Central Office, 565 South Main Street, Monticello, no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, May 27, 2011.   Please include student’s name, address and telephone number for identification.

We hope lots of White County high school students will present an essay for this very worthwhile event.
